Resolutions? NO! Revolution!

HappyNewYear

I have always hated the pressure the New Year brought. Being expected to form some kind of vow to do something better than I have in the past always left me feeling inadequate. After all, I continually, year after year, made these grandiose resolutions, and, year after year, would revert back to my former modus operandi within weeks of January 1.

Ugh. Way to set myself up for disappointment!

Well, I have decided that I don’t care to beat myself up any longer! Will you join me?

I’ve decided, instead, to create a REVOLUTION, rather than a resolution. Let’s see what dear, old Google has to say about the word “revolution”:

rev·o·lu·tion (one definition from Google)

ˌrevəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/

noun

noun: revolution; plural noun: revolutions

  • a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people’s ideas about it.

“marketing underwent a revolution”

synonyms: dramatic change, radical alteration, sea changemetamorphosis, transformationinnovation, reorganization, restructuring

Hmm… very interesting!

“A dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people’s ideas about it”

I especially like the synonyms “metamorphosis,” “transformation,” and “innovation”.

This year, I am choosing to embrace the metamorphosis through which I am journeying. I am watching my transformation happen, as a child watches a chick hatching from an egg – with wonder, curiosity, and reverence for the whole process. I am seeking innovation in all areas of my life – from the mundane tasks of keeping up with dishes and laundry to the God-ordained, all-important mission of loving my husband and children.

I invite you to eschew resolutions and embrace the revolution that you can create in your life, RIGHT NOW!

Have a blessed 2015!
